Our September golf weekend at Little Ocmulgee State Park & Lodge was inspired by a text this summer: “Hey Ronny! New cabins at Little O. Let’s meet up and hit some rounds.”
My golfing buddy, Martine, was doing some vacation surfing at work one day when he sent this to me. Since he and his wife moved out of town for work, we don’t get to play golf on the weekends as much as we used to. I googled “new cabins little o.”
Fast forward … and we are here.
I can’t believe how lucky we feel. I mean, the former cabins were fine. But these new boutique lakeside cabins are so fresh and spacious that it’s making our couples’ weekend of golfing feel even more special. We’re posting on TikTok some of our getaway weekend stuff and people are loving it.
The 10 secluded lakeside cabins at Little O, as locals call the park, feature 2-bedrooms (4 beds total) and 2 full bathrooms. Bath linens are provided. Our cabin has a big living room with cable TV and full kitchen with appliances and dinnerware, plus amazing views of the lake outside. There is a grill and outdoor patio. And it’s always nice to be near water.
We slayed Wallace Adams Golf Course. The practice green is the perfect place to get in the groove before our tee times, giving us a chance to read the greens before teeing off.
We brought our own clubs but if you don’t, know that the full-service pro shop at Wallace Adams has everything you need to be ready to play: golf accessories, men’s and women’s apparel, clubs for rent, and beverages and snacks.
Bring your Bloody Mary from Mulligan’s Grille in the golf cart and let’s go! We returned to the “19th hole” restaurant after all our games and munched on shareables, salads, made-to-order sandwiches and drinks. Cheers to the views, these golf games, and to our enduring friendship!
It’s easy to see how Wallace Adams Golf Course is a favorite with locals who are lucky enough to live nearby. I mean super lucky, because this place is so cool.
